Welcome to Livoti's Old World Market.
John Livoti was born and raised in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn. You could say that he grew up in the business working around food all his life! He eventually took a position at Top Tomato in Brooklyn and absorbed everything he could for quite a few years. In 1998 he was asked to run the Top Tomato in Great Kills, Staten Island, and is still doing so today! In the midst of his career he met Hani Qassis. Hani and John have both been immersed in the food business for most of their lives and they immediately noticed the similarities in their love of food and family.
Hani began his career with a degree in Hotel Management and Cooking in Israel. He went on to cook in select hotels and presided over catered events for many important members of the Israeli government. Eventually he began to feel that he needed a change. He moved to New York City and began cultivating experience, from working with pasta companies to opening his own Bay Ridge Barbeque. Hani went on to positions as Executive Chef for R.H. Macy’s & Co, as well as Regional Executive Chef for Centerplate, including Yankee Stadium.
John’s loving family that shared their feelings through Italian Specialty Foods and Hani’s culinary training and expertise are a match made in food heaven. Now, they would like to bring their expertise and traditional Italian food to South Jersey. Let Hani, John and the entire Livoti Family show you the meaning of excellence in food service.
